Keith is a pop-culture writer whose work regularly appears in publications such as GQ, TV Guide, Vulture, and more. He publishes several articles a week, and has done so for years, so his body of work is vast. He needed help streamlining the process of keeping his archive current and organized.
Clients like Keith don't come around often. He had clear goals in mind for his website and just needed some help implementing them. His vision, along with his easygoing nature, made the work feel effortless. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such an accomplished writer.
Jordan was one of my first freelance clients, and I will always appreciate his confidence in me. That meant a great deal at the time since I was so new to working in web development. It was easy working with him thanks to his kind and fun demeanor, and he set the bar unfairly high for future clients.
My first task upon joining the team was to redesign the San Dimas Community Post website on
WordPress. Team leaders researched function and design features they liked in theme templates, and
we worked together to conceptualize a theme
that fit these criteria.
Once that was established, I went to work customizing a WordPress
theme that fit the new vision, while adhering to already-established branding and style guides. I
troubleshooted and fixed technical
issues as they were detected.
We successfully launched the redesign in February 2021, just a
little more than a month after I joined the team.
This site was originally built in nothing more than good ol' HTML and CSS in May 2021. It served as a major class project with the objective of showcasing my work in a portfolio site. I wrote every bit of code by hand, from scratch, and loved every minute of it.
Today, the site evolves alongside the new things I am learning. For instance, I rebuilt the site in Bootstrap 5 (September 2021) so I could practice using the framework shortly after I learned it. Most recently, I recompiled my CSS styles with Sass (October 2021). As I keep learning new things, expect to see them here.
